Cream Cheese Stuffed Brioche
The ultimate brunch indulgence. Thick slices of buttery brioche are stuffed with a rich cream cheese filling and cooked until the exterior is golden-brown and slightly crisp.
Ingredients
- 2 thick slices stale brioche bread
- 8 oz soft cream cheese
- 4 eggs, beaten
- 1 fl oz whole milk
- 2 fl oz heavy cream
- 2.8 oz granulated sugar
- 0.2 oz ground cinnamon
- Crushed pistachios, for garnish
Instructions
Using a knife, create a deep pocket in the center of each brioche slice. Fill each pocket with cream cheese.
In a shallow dish, whisk together the eggs, milk, and heavy cream. In a separate bowl, combine the sugar and cinnamon. Add half of the sugar-cinnamon mixture to the egg batter and whisk to combine. Reserve the other half for coating.
Preheat the appliance to 350°F.
Dip each stuffed brioche slice into the egg batter, ensuring complete saturation on both sides. Place the slices in the oiled basket.
Cook for 10 minutes, flipping at the 5-minute mark, until golden brown.
Remove from the basket. While hot, coat with the reserved sugar-cinnamon mixture. Garnish with crushed pistachios and serve immediately.
Chef's Tip
"Use stale bread for optimal absorption of the egg batter and to maintain structural integrity during cooking."
