Error Code Database

Display stuck on E1 or E2? Don't throw it away! Discover the technical meaning of error codes and how to fix your appliance safely.

🧠 Why do error codes appear?

Modern air fryers are equipped with microcomputers that constantly monitor the thermistor (heat sensor) and fan airflow. When an error code appears, the motherboard has cut power to prevent a fire hazard. About 60% of errors are 'false positives' solvable with a software reset, while the remaining 40% require hardware component replacement.

How to perform an Hard Reset:

  1. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet (do not just turn off the power button).
  2. Pull out the basket to disengage the safety micro-switch.
  3. Wait at least 15 minutes for the motherboard capacitors to fully discharge.
  4. Reinsert the basket, plug it back in, and turn it on. If the error persists, check the code below.

E1 / E01

🔴 Hardware Fix
Common Brands: Cosori, Ninja, Philips
Diagnosis:

Temperature sensor (NTC Thermistor) unplugged, open circuit, or motherboard failure.

Solution:

Unplug the unit. If the error persists when cold, the sensor is dead. Requires hardware replacement (experts only) or customer support.

E2 / E02

🔴 Hardware Fix
Common Brands: Cosori, Ariete, Moulinex
Diagnosis:

Thermal sensor short circuit or extreme overheating. The machine locks down to prevent fire.

Solution:

Unplug immediately and ensure air vents aren't blocked. If the error doesn't clear, internal wiring is irreparably damaged.

E3 / E03

🟢 Software Reset
Common Brands: Ninja, Generic, Proscenic
Diagnosis:

Overheating protection tripped or the basket/drawer is not securely closed.

Solution:

Pull out and firmly reinsert the basket. Move the air fryer away from walls (at least 6 inches) and let it cool for 45 minutes.

E4 / E04

🟢 Software Reset
Common Brands: Ninja, Cosori
Diagnosis:

Fan/airflow malfunction or communication error (often due to incorrect voltage).

Solution:

Use a flashlight to check the upper fan for debris. Make sure you are not using faulty extension cords or travel voltage adapters.

Dead Display

🔴 Hardware Fix
Common Brands: All Brands
Diagnosis:

Safety micro-switch not engaged or internal thermal fuse blown.

Solution:

Push the basket in until you hear a 'click'. If it won't turn on after heavy use, the internal thermal fuse has blown to protect your home.

⚠️ Electrical Safety and Liability

Working near the heating coil or manipulating circuits carries a risk of fatal electric shock. The machine MUST be unplugged and cold. AirFryerConverter disclaims all liability for property damage or personal injury.
